About Wildfire: a memoir

Wildfire is the story he fought like hell to stop.

But I fought harder to tell it.

For 441 days, I was legally silenced by the State of Oklahoma —barred from warning women about a predator while he continued to hurt others. A judge’s order didn’t just strip me of my First Amendment rights—it gave him cover to keep going.

I refuse to let that stand.

My mission is unapologetically threefold:

  • Expose the institutions that enabled the abuse.

  • Call out the predator I set out to stop.

  • Empower women everywhere to reclaim their voices.

This is more than my story—it’s a fight for truth, for justice, and for every survivor who’s ever been told to stay quiet.

No one should ever silence a woman.

A book cover titled 'Wildfire: A Memoir' by Karrah Youngblood features two women walking away from the camera, holding hands, with a backdrop of flames on the ground and a dark, smoky background.

Karrah Youngblood

I’m Karrah — a professional artist, single mom, and unexpected memoirist from Oklahoma. I never planned to be an activist. But standing up to the man who hurt me — and so many others — turned into a fight I couldn’t walk away from.

My art has been featured by NPR, TMZ, and Comic-Con, but Wildfire is the creation I’m most proud of. Telling my story seemed like the obvious thing to do since a serial predator tried so hard to stop it. Writing and Publishing Wildfire feels like the closest form of Justice I will ever receive. I wrote it to reclaim my voice — and to help others find theirs.

This is so much more to me than selling a book. It’s about sharing my story.
